Mr. Troy Ford and the Birth of a Community

"Having relationships with other writers is so important. There's a fellowship you feel, and that's what's going to sustain you over time."
1

I met Mr. Troy Ford on LinkedIn through an LGBTQ writers’ group. After checking out his serial novel, Lamb, his essays, and his short fiction, I became a fan and a subscriber. But even better, we started getting to know one another. He introduced me to Pencilhouse, a magazine and nonprofit writing feedback service, and I’m now signed up as a volunteer. He started the LGBTQ community, Q-Stack, and he chose a novel excerpt that I submitted as the inaugural guest post. Troy and I finally met on Zoom for this interview which was delightful. He shares about his relationship to his adopted home town of Sitges, Spain; his relationship to his husband; and his relationship to his name, a particularly fascinating story for me. Even if you don’t listen to this interview, do check out Ford Knows on Substack. It’s utterly delightful, as is he.
